Our approach to integrative neurotherapy

At our neurotherapy centre in Île-de-France, we use advanced techniques designed to help you optimise your mental and emotional performance. qEEG neurofeedback aims to rebalance your brain activity, while biofeedback helps you better regulate your physiological rhythms in real time. Combined, these integrative neurotherapy approaches offer a personalised way to improve your well-being and your everyday life!

Sarah Dehan, neurotherapist, and her team are here to support you. We are committed to helping you improve your well-being for the long term.

Why choose integrative neurotherapy?

Integrative neurotherapy relies on non-invasive and drug-free techniques. It uses biofeedback (physiological feedback) to help improve your mental, emotional and physiological functioning in a personalised, natural way. Each person receives support tailored to their needs, with a view to lasting change in their daily life.

Integrative Neurotherapy

An innovative training approach, non-invasive and drug-free (a non-pharmacological intervention), based on the principle of biofeedback (physiological feedback)!

Biofeedback

Neurotherapy techniques to become aware of your body and regulate your physiological responses through a self-regulation system.

EEG Neurofeedback

This biofeedback approach applied to the brain uses quantitative electroencephalography to regulate and optimise brain activity!

swLORETA Neurofeedback

One of the most advanced systems in neurotherapy, for precisely targeted training of brain activity!

New · Companies & occupational health

Preventing psychosocial risks, right alongside your employees

Centre Élan now also supports companies, working with occupational health services: quantitative EEG (qEEG) assessments, stress management through biofeedback and mental preparation through neurofeedback.

qEEG assessment

A functional analysis tool (alertness, attention, stress regulation) that informs the occupational physician, while respecting medical confidentiality.

Stress biofeedback

Employees learn to regulate their stress by watching their breathing and heart rate live on screen.

Mental preparation

Neurofeedback training for executives and teams: concentration, recovery and sleep.

At your premises, on request: the company provides a room and helps make training accessible. Sessions can also take place at the occupational health service.

Frequently asked questions

What are neurotherapy, neurofeedback and biofeedback?

Neurotherapy refers to a set of non-invasive, drug-free methods that train the nervous system to self-regulate better, using physiological measurements presented in real time. It relies on two complementary techniques. Biofeedback measures signals from the body (heart rate variability, muscle tension, skin conductance, temperature, breathing) and displays them on screen so that you can learn to regulate them. A well-known technique, it is widely used by physiotherapists and midwives, particularly for pelvic floor rehabilitation after childbirth. Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback applied to the brain: the brain’s electrical activity, recorded by electroencephalography (EEG), is presented in real time so that the person gradually learns to self-regulate it.

How does neurofeedback work?

Neurofeedback is a form of brain training. Sensors placed on the scalp measure the brain’s electrical activity in real time, and visual or audio feedback tells the person when this activity is moving closer to the set target. Through repetition, the normalisation of the targeted brainwaves aims to improve clinical symptoms. The sensors only listen: no current is sent.

In what situations can neurofeedback and biofeedback help?

At the Élan centre, training is offered to children, teenagers and adults who are experiencing, in particular, difficulties with attention, restlessness or impulsivity (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), tics or Tourette syndrome, learning disorders (dyslexia, dyspraxia/DCD, etc.), sleep disorders, anxiety, stress or burnout. It aims to strengthen self-regulation: attention, emotional regulation, sleep quality and stress response. Effects vary from person to person: the initial assessment is used to judge whether training is appropriate and to set specific goals.

From what age is support available?

The centre welcomes children from the age of 5, teenagers and adults, with no upper age limit. More than age, what matters is the ability to take part in the session and the motivation to commit to it.

How does the first appointment work?

The first appointment is a recording session: an in-depth intake interview, followed by a quantitative EEG (qEEG) recording, which is compared with a normative database. The results and the brain map are presented at a results session about a week to ten days later, together with a proposed individualised training protocol.

How many sessions should I expect?

On average, expect around thirty sessions, at a rate of one or two sessions a week: an initial qEEG assessment, a first protocol of about 15 sessions, a comparative mid-point qEEG assessment, then a second protocol of about 15 sessions. This is an average guide, adjusted for each person according to the results of the initial qEEG assessment.

Are sessions reimbursed?

Sessions are not covered by French national health insurance (Assurance Maladie). Some top-up health insurers (mutuelles) contribute under their complementary medicine cover, depending on the policy. A detailed invoice is provided for each service, which you can send to your top-up health insurer.

What is the difference between dynamical neurofeedback and qEEG-guided neurofeedback?

So-called dynamical or automatic neurofeedback leaves the person passive during training and applies the same principle to everyone. Neurofeedback guided by quantitative EEG starts with an assessment: an EEG recording compared with a normative database. This prior analysis makes it possible to personalise the support for each individual, because no two brain profiles are the same. Training targets the areas and frequencies that genuinely deviate from the norm in that particular person. At the Élan centre, it is combined with biofeedback: this combination aims for longer-lasting results and takes both body and mind into account. The person becomes aware of the work they are doing and the changes they are making, so that they can learn to reproduce them in everyday life.

Does neurofeedback replace medical treatment?

No. It must never lead to stopping any current treatment: any change must be decided by the doctor in charge of the person’s care. Neurotherapy training, through biofeedback and neurofeedback, complements existing care, alongside the other professionals involved.
